The venue is reached by taking the main road from Midleton to Ballycotton (R629). Cloyne is about 6km from Midleton. As you approach Cloyne the course is immediately on the right.

Under no circumstances are vehicles to be parked along this stretch of roadway. Parking for athletes and spectators is at the GAA grounds in the middle of Cloyne.

From the car park follow signs to the course which is about a 200m away. First race starts at 1pm....

Very often the Gluteals, ITB's an general hip complex is bypassed (usually because they are the tightest muscles and therefore hurt or feel like you're getting nowhere!). Of course these ar...

A more cost effective alternative to Boston is Rotterdam.

Boston is the 'Holy Grail' of marathons, but it is neither the fastest course nor is it cheap. resent costs for flights, from Dublin or Shannon, to Boston are approx. €208, plus baggage, per leg, so approx. €450 round trip. Add hotel costs which are quite expensive close to the finish area. Expect overall cost for a, say, 5 day trip to come out about €1000 per head.

Rotterdam has flights, from Cork, to Amsterdam (Schipol) at €141 return, wi...
