Glounthaune Circuit, 12 or 16 miles

This starts at Glounthaune Church car park.  Two choices, a 12 or 16 miler.  By going back left (downhill) to Glounthaune at the 'figure of 8' on the map it becomes a 12 miler.  This is a hilly run with lovely views largely along quite country boreens with little traffic.  As the route is a bit complex over the early miles a good idea would be to print out the map and take it along.  The first two miles is largely uphill.  A mixture of level and downhill follows which duly brings us into Carrigtohill, partly along the Striker Four Mile Business House route.  Once through the village and back the Cork road we get up into the hills again to the quite roads.  A substantial hill best part of a mile in length follows and then a lovely high road with lovely views.  Then to finish if a 12 miler or continue to complete which brings us down into Dunkettle and so back along the old main road to the car park where we started.
