22nd Annual Tommy Ryan Memorial 5 Mile Race
NB!! Course inspection
The cold weather is expected to continue through next weekend. If Saturday next is frosty there will be a course inspection early on Sunday morning. Should conditions be unsafe for road running, a decision may be made, in conjunctionwith the Gardai, to cancel the event. In the unlikely event that this should occur, news of the cancellation will be announced on 96 and 103FM radio stations.
Such a drastic measure will be taken only if it proves necessary. Safety is paramount!
The 22nd Annual Eagle 5 will be held at 11am on Sunday February 28th 2010.
The 2010 event, coming four weeks before Ballycotton, should prove attractive with those finalising their preparations and it is hoped that entries will come close to the 2009 record of 262 entries.

Medical Services
This year, Eagle will have an ambulance, with trained personnel in attendance. In addition several Eagle members are trained in CPR and defibrillation. A contact protocol will be in place to enable rapid contact, if required, between stewards/officials and the ambulance personnel.
Entries:
Entries will be taken on the day, from approx. 9.30 onwards, in Carrigaline Community Centre. Last entries 10.45am.
Showers & Changing:
Unfortunately, one of the dressing rooms has been turned into a meeting room, therefore there will be NO SHOWERS available for gents this year, and gents changing will be in the main hall. Ladies changing will be usptairs as usual, with showers available. We apologise for the inconvenience, which is beyond our control.
Toilets:
There are limited toilet facilities in the Community Hall, so please if at all possible, do as your Mammy always said "Go before you leave!" The toilets are generally bottleneck and delays inevitably occur. We rely on Carrigaline community support, so please do NOT use the local street and estate areas as 'al fresco' toilets.
Charity
For the past four years, a portion of the entry fee has gone to local charity Carrigaline Meals On-Wheels. In 2009, we donated €600 from 262 entries.
Results, Photographs & Presentation of Prizes:
None of us likes the idea of waiting around "all day" for results., consequently Eagle strives to produce timely results. Presentation of prizes is scheduled to take place at approx. 12:30 on the day. Limited copies of the results, on the basis of one copy per club/media, will be available after the presentation. We hope to post the race results on the website by 14:00, or as soon as possible after that, allowing for 'mopping up' after the event. Race photographs should be posted in the Gallery on the Eagle website later in the day.
Race HQ/Changing/Parking
Click on the icon/pointer for more information. Parking at the Community Centre is very limited, so we are advising people to use the car-park just off the By-pass road. There is ample parking here and it is only about 100m to the hall.
