Eagle Prominent at Cork AAI AGM. Awarded County Roads Chps and Tony Kelleher elected PRO!
Eagle AC had a strong influence on proceedings at the AGM, held in the Blarney Woolen Mills Hotel recently.
There were two major major news items for the Club:
Firstly, that our bid to host the County Masters and Novice Road Championships was successful. The event, which takes the form of a two mile race for ladies and four miles for the men, will be held in Whitechurch, on Sunday February 17th. Timing is yet to be confirmed, with the preferred time being 12 noon and a fall back time of 14:00. The courses are already measured, and should prove testing for both sexes. This event is the first Championship event the Club has ever held and the milestone is a welcome indicator of how far the Club has advanced in recent years. More details about the event will be posted shortly.
The second major news item was the election of Club member Tony Kelleher to the position of PRO for the County Board. This is another first for the Club, as Eagle has never before had a member at the "Top Table". I'm sure you'll all join with me in extending warmest congratulations and best wishes to Tony!
Eagle also had 19 motions before the AGM and all except two were successful.
The Club was represented by Chairman, John Quigley and Secretary, Pat Murphy.
