The CARD data_base_ has been online for nearly three weeks and has been well received.

One of the three search options (Races) hasn't been working and, as I've been away, I haven't had an opportunity to fix it. Hopefully that will happen over the next few days. The problem was caused by a bug created when adding the Google Analytics _script_.

Updates: I hope to add about a dozen more 2008 results today, along with one 1986 race. I'm planning to add as many available results as possible, going backwards for the past 5 years or so, before adding many of the older results (reasoning that most users are relatively new to the sport and don't have the same interest in the older results from the "elder lemons")

Many of the older results are paper _base_d and will have to be scanned and OCR (Optical Character Recognition) used on the results. this is a very slow process.

There are now 51,808 results, from 157 races, on line.

The problem with the Races search page has been sorted.

Results will now be added back to 2003 on a reverse chronological order basis. When the 2003-2008 period is finished, records will be added on an ad-hoc random basis.

All available records for the past 12 months have now been added, except for Belgooly, Bandon and County, Munster and National AAI road, track and XC records....On the 'To Do' list!

There are now over 61,000 records from 200 races on line. Some races contain as little as 1 record - these are races outside Cork in which Eagle athletes took part.

The best (I think!) search utility is the Detailed Search.

Duplicates: in the rush to upload I have an indexing problem - at least two races have the same index, so there are 362 duplicates in the data_base_. If you find them please let me know.

There are now approx. 88,500 records from 415 races in the data_base_. This includes all BHAA race results back to Oct 2001 (some 2002 & 20033 results are not available at present, but I'm working on it.)

Approx. 10 more BHAA race results are available in electronic form and will be loaded shortly. AAI race results from Cork, Munster and National will then be loaded, along with Eagle results from outside Cork.

The real fun begins then - there are hundreds of race results available in paper format and these will need to be scanned and OCR used to enable them to be "pulled in" to the data_base_. Of course there is a huge number of handwritten results available, but it isn't proposed to enter these in the data_base_ - unless YOU are voluntering to type them out!

Note: The duplicates issue has been sorted. There are several time errors in results. I hope to get round to correcting these shortly. Please note that any missing/unquoted times have been entered as 23:59:59 - this is the case with many of the Cross-Country events. Other than these, any high or very low time is likely to be incorrect.
